Thompson Physical Therapy is devoted to getting you back to doing the activities you love without pain slowing you down. Thompson Physical Therapy differentiates itself from other physical therapy in Gainesville, FL in a number of ways: 1 on 1 care for the full treatment session, highly effective manual therapy techniques, and rapid return to the activities you need, want, and love to do. Physical pain should never have a place in the memories that are made with your friends and family, and we help you overcome it and take back your life.
We do this with the use of manual therapy, corrective exercise, and patient education. At Thompson Physical Therapy, we treat a wide range of orthopedic conditions ranging from neck pain, to low back pain, to sports injuries, and postural dysfunction. You are assessed thoroughly to discover the cause of your dysfunction and to begin the process of recovery back to the activities you love.
You will be given a plan of action on day 1 outlining the expected course of your treatment, expectations for what you need to do between visits, cost of treatment, and advice on how to maintain your progress after discharge. Options will also be given for regular tune-ups to make sure that you are staying on track and keeping yourself in top condition to perform at the game of life.
All treatment sessions are 1 on 1 with a Doctor of Physical Therapy and are scheduled for 1 hour appointment times. For this reason, Thompson Physical Therapy does not accept insurance for payment. In insurance based physical therapy clinics, each therapist must see at least 2 patients per hour (often times more) and use technicians and passive modalities such as ultrasound and electrical stimulation. Thompson Physical Therapy wants to make sure you get the most out of your time spent in the clinic, and it is our belief that the most benefit comes from the 1 on 1 with the therapist.
Thompson Physical Therapy also believes that patient education plays and equally important role in the outcome of your treatment. Learning about the process of pain and how it leads to dysfunction and vice versa is a core component of your treatment. Education about the healing process and how different tissues of the body respond to different stresses is addressed throughout your course of therapy. You will also be educated on posture and how it contributes to your dysfunction.
So, how is your pain affecting you in your daily life? What is your pain keeping you from? Is it playing with your kids, running a 5k, sitting comfortably at your work station, or achieving a personal best in your sport? Whatever your reason for wanting to get rid of your pain, we will cater your treatment to your goals and needs.
