WHY THOMPSON PHYSICAL THERAPY?

Who We Are

Restoring physical activity by optimizing movement, improving performance, and decreasing pain. This is who we are at Thompson Physical Therapy. We differentiate ourselves from other physical therapy clinics in Gainesville, FL in a number of ways. We provide 1 on 1 care for the full treatment session because you deserve the attention. We provide highly effective manual therapy techniques to reduce pain and improve mobility. We help you achieve rapid return to the activities you need, want, and love to do. You have a life to live. Live it to the fullest!

With the use of manual therapy, corrective exercise, and patient education, you can achieve your goals for physical activity. At Thompson Physical Therapy, we treat a wide range of orthopedic conditions. We see things ranging from neck pain, to low back pain, to sports injuries, and postural dysfunction. We evaluate thoroughly to discover the cause of  dysfunction, and provide a plan for recovery.

You are given a plan of action on day 1 outlining the expected course of your treatment. You learn what you need to do between visits and why. Transparency is important, so total cost of treatment is given on day 1. You will be advised on how to maintain improvements after you complete your plan of care. Options are given for regular tune-ups to keep you on track and maintaining top condition.

All treatment sessions are 1 on 1 with a Doctor of Physical Therapy and are scheduled for 1 hour appointment times. For this reason, Thompson Physical Therapy does not bill insurance for payment. In insurance based physical therapy clinics, each therapist must see at least 2 patients per hour (often times more) and use technicians and passive modalities such as ultrasound and electrical stimulation. Thompson Physical Therapy wants to make sure you get the most out of your time spent in the clinic. It is our belief that the most benefit comes from the 1 on 1 time with the therapist.

Thompson Physical Therapy believes that patient education plays an equally important role in the outcome of your treatment. Learning about the process of pain and its relationship to dysfunction  is a core component of your treatment.  We provide education about the healing process and how different tissues of the body respond to stress. We also educate on posture and how it contributes to your dysfunction.

So, how is pain or movement performance affecting your daily life? What are you not able to do? Is it playing with your kids, running a 5k, sitting comfortably at your work station, or achieving a personal best in your sport? Whatever your reason for wanting to get rid of your pain, we will cater your treatment to your goals and needs.
